Poem inspired by the book of 1st Kings in the bible
Poem 1st Kings
In the word of GOD, where prophets speak,
Into the book of First Kings, we take peek,
Into the rise and fall of kings, Victories and defeats.
A tale unfolds, of battles and of mighty feats
Solomon, the wise, with God's favor, reigned,
He built a temple grand, For God's glory it contained.
Prayers and sacrifices, he faithfully ordained,
In Jerusalem, where the presence of GOD remained.
But with the wealth and power, his heart began to stray,
To the foreign gods, his wives got him to sway.
and God's commandments, he disobeyed,
Thus, the kingdom was divided, a price to be paid.
North and South, two kingdoms stood,
Israel and Judah, in brotherhood.
Through times of peace, and times not good,
God's word, their guide, as it should.
Elijah, the prophet, bold and brave,
Stood against Ahab, God's law to save.
In God's name, a path he paved,
Defying idols, with faith engraved.
First Kings, a lesson in power and pride,
Where faith was tested, and truth defied.
Reminding us, with G-od as our guide,
In His love and grace, we must abide.
